Electronic Check Conversion System
Overview
The Electronic Check Conversion (ECC) system from Gateway Solutions allows customers to effectively convert paper checks into an electronic format for payment. It stores, retrieves and processes checks via ACH. The system collects information from the customers check authorization or point of sale system, and using client server technology stores this information on a relational database for later use. Each night, a batch file is created and sent to a third party for clearing and payment. It allows returned check files to be submitted from the clearing agent. It also allows electronic re-presentment of returned items, which greatly reduces collection efforts. Customers use a web browser to perform inquiries and adjustments, which allows for great geographical diversity among users, with minimal training requirements. Optionally, if check image capture is used, a paper copy of the check can be recreated.
